A sequel to "Pietà". Maria Stella, Lady Newborough, now lives in Paris, and is trying to prove that she was exchanged as a baby with a child from a French aristocratic family. That child eventually became the king of France. French political forces conspire to make sure that her efforts to reveal the truth fail.
